The 1950s. Clark Reed is a private detective. One evening, Frank Dalton walks through his door: his wife disappears some nights, and he wants to know where, and with whom.
The case looks simple. It won t stay that way. Tipped off, Linda Dalton sends Joe Turner, her bodyguard, to intimidate the detective.
Bad move: Reed turns the muscle around and brings him to his knees.
So the lady plays her final card. She shows up herself, long gloves and a black dress, her assistant Harold Webb at her side, and leaves him in the detective s capable hands. The price of his silence.
Shot like a crime story, played like a confession. Some cases never get closed.
